Rolling down the tracks to the junction. With a pair of empty covered hoppers in tow, the Arcade & Attica's Consolidation #18 rolls around the west leg of the wye in Arcade, NY, heading for Arcade Junction and a connection with the Class II, Buffalo & Pittsburgh Railroad. Although best known for their steam passenger excursions, New York's Arcade & Attica Railroad is primarily a shortline freight carrier, picking up loads from the outside world delivered by the B&P and running them out to industrial and agricultural customers along their own line, which stretches over a dozen miles from Arcade to North Java. For much of its history, the tracks went all the way to Attica, but that all changed when washouts due to flooding rendered the northern part of the line unusable in the late 1950s.
