Train of Many Colors / Metals.
One of the trains at the 2019 Parade of Trains event hosted by the NY Transit Museum was a mixed set of R33 Worlds Fair cars (St. Louis Car Co., 1963) and R38 cars (St. Louis Car Co., 1966-1967). The R38s were bookended by the R33s, and were also providing customer access given the large gaps between the IRT-width R33s and the BMT-width platforms. The Transit Museum has previously run mixed consists such as this: the IRT version is referred to as the "Train of Many Colors," and the BMT/IND version is known as the "Train of Many Metals." Here the train is seen approaching Ocean Parkway Station on the BMT Brighton Line.
