Remarks & Notes |
OKLAHOMA CITY OK Oct 16 1983 — Santa FE SD40-2 5131 and SD45-2 5685 roll south on train 185. EMD delivered the unit (s/n 796396-4) in December 1980 as an RCE Locotrol remote locomotive with two Sinclair Excalibur ST321 antennas on elevated ground planes on cab roof. It was painted blue body with yellow warbonnet livery. In April 1994 Morrison Knudsen performed maintenance on the unit and applied MKM lettering below road numbers on the cab sides. On September 22 1995 it was transferred to Burlington Northern Santa Fe. On Jan 14 1998 it was renumbered BNSF 6860 while still in its yellow warbonnet livery and was patched with BNSF on cab sides. In August 2000 it was repainted in BNSF H1 livery. Sometime before Sept 29 2019 it was renumbered BNSF 1898. My photo.
