When the north ramp of the railway line over the Hauenstein, from Sissach to Läufelfingen with a grade of 2.7 %, was inaugurated on may 1, 1857, there was double track. Later, in 1938 the line was built back to one track only, because the new Hauenstein base line, opened in 1916, took over most of the traffic. The line from Sissach over Läufelfingen to Olten was electrified in 1953 only, as one of the last lines of the SBB. The Eb 3/5 # 5819 is just to enter the 60 meter long Mühlefluh tunnel near Läufelfingen with the passenger extra 31725 from Laufen to Langenthal Süd.
