Accelerating out of Fullerton as it heads to Los Angeles from Chicago, is Amtrak 3, the westbound Southwest Chief. This six-car train is pulled by Amtrak's 50th Anniversary "Phase I" Heritage unit, P42DC 161, along with P42DC 15. The last car, Coach 31014, is still wearing a wrap for Amtrak's Winter Park Express, operated in Colorado in the winter. The train, operating 3 hours 12 minutes behind schedule, is passing the baseball stadium at Amerige Park, home of Fullerton's Hope International University "Royals".
