The very last sunlight of October 11, 2018, softly illuminates a westbound Eastern Washington Gateway Railroad grain train grinding through the curves west of Deep Creek, Washington. The train is powered by two former Montana Rail Link EMD SD45s—Nos. 328 and 329. The EWG only had a few more weeks to survive, with its last train operating on the former BN/BNSF CW Subdivision branch to Coulee City on November 3, 2018. The track is owned by Washington State Department of Transportation and now has a new operator.
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
