Remarks & Notes

SLR Alstom-rebuilt Caterpillar-engined W3 673 and Hunslet-built Rolls Royce-engined Y 683 stand on Kandy running shed on Wednesday 25th January 2023. W3 are diesel-hydraulic and were were originally built by Rheinstahl – Henschel with Paxman engines from 1969, but were rebuilt and re-engined by Alstom in 1997.
