A CSX crew is onboard leased power at Cayce, South Carolina in this 2011 photograph. They would shove back maybe a hundred feet to pick up a cut of cars for delivery.
HLCX (Helms Leasing) 7186 is an SD40-2 built as Burlington Northern Railroad (BN) 7186, later Burlington Northern Santa Fe (BNSF) same number. Norfolk Southern bought it from HLCX and it became NS 3547. In 2020, they sold it to Genesee & Wyoming Inc. I am trying to find out what railroad they sent it to and what number they gave it.
HLCX SD40-2 7857 was built in 1979 as Colorado Southern, same number. It later became BNSF 7857. HLCX later sold it to Norfolk Southern as NS 3523. It was still on their roster as of summer 2021. |
