The P&L's recently completed "heritage" mother/slug set takes the weekend off at the small rock yard in Leitchfield, KY. In addition to a thorough rebuild, the original P&L green and black paint scheme was applied to the units in honor of the railroad's 35th anniversary. The set was numbered accordingly with the slug (former PAL 2114) taking on new number "1986" and the GP40-3 mother (former PAL 2113) becoming the "2021". Both wear a special 35th Anniversary patch on their conductor's side long hood ends.
Not
just heritage schemes, not just commemorative schemes - this album is devoted to some of the world's most interesting paint schemes, past or present.
