With e Reading & Northern Ramble laid over in Jim Thorpe for almost 4 hours, one needs to find something to kill the time. During the lay over back in May, my kids and I did some hiking in the Lehigh Gorge State Park, and came across this angle, and I knew I wanted to give it a go during the July trip. As an added bonus, I found out the day before that the railroad's F units would be used on the Lehigh Gorge Scenic Railway trips for the holiday weekend. Here, the 1:00 trip is seen accelerating into the Gorge as the train crosses the Lehigh River.
