It is really hard to believe that this was enough power for a freight train along the Aurora Sub. Now days to find any train under 8,000 horse probably not too common, but back in 1997 a measly 4,000 horse would be enough to move this freight. Definitely wasn't a rocket ship, but these SD38's would always stay moving forward. Here a pair of GATX's chatter their way out of East Dubuque with freight bound for Galesburg or Chicago.
