After Rocky Mountain Railroad Club’s 1985 Denver-Laramie round trip reached Speer Junction, Wyoming, one of the largest diesels ever built replaced the largest active steam locomotive on the planet. Here the train rolls out of Speer Junction with DDA40X 6936 in charge.
