Remarks & Notes

This late summer evening in September finds an empty train for Peach Creek rolling through the signals and spring switch at E.E. Ranger on CSX's former C&O Logan Subdivision. Ranger is the occasional meeting place between loads and empties and is halfway from Logan and Barboursville. While the Logan coalfields are busy with several active loadouts, trains meeting here are fairly unusual.
