Remarks & Notes
Ge 4/4 II # 614 of the Rhaetian Railway is pulling the freight train 5737 from Landquart to Ilanz through the gorge of the Vorderrhein, called Ruinaulta, between Reichenau-Tamins and Trin. The train is mostly transporting empty VALSER mineral water bottles for refilling in Vals. Here, where the ruins of the Wackenau fortress are standing on a rock, there is the most narrow strait of the river, and there is a sign on the rock which shows the historical most hight of the water. On this day/time there were about 38 m3/second, the flood can reach 200 m3/second. Between the track and the river, there is a beautiful hiking path from Trin to Reichenau. The view of the photo is from the hiking path on the other side of the gorge.
