The world unique operational cogwheel steamlocomotive with an upright boiler, the mighty H 1/2 # 7 of the former Vitznau-Rigi-Bahn, now the Rigi Bahnen, is shoving car B # 5 (built in 1871) up the mountain between Rigi Staffel and Rigi Kulm. This sight will be possible again this year, the first time on may 21th, when the Rigi Bahn is 150 years old. The H 1/2 # 7 was the very first locomotive built by the Swiss Locomotive and Machine Works (SLM) in 1873. The 6 first cogwheel steamlocomotives for the Rigi Bahn of a very similar construction were built by the workshop of the SCB (Schweizerische Centralbahn) in Olten from 1870 to 1873.
