Basking in the golden hour light at Redondo Junction, Amtrak's Phase IV 40th Anniversary painted P42DC, AMTK 184, enjoys a break between duties as it waits for its turn to receive some attention from Amtrak's Los Angeles mechanical forces. Joining the specially painted, 2001-built product of GE is a sister P42, Dash-8 and a pair of more recent built Siemens Chargers, being CDTX 2110 and 2113. The rather full house this evening finds all these units circled around the restored, ex-Santa Fe turntable that even sports the original "Get The Safety Habit" logo that Santa Fe had on the span back in its heyday.
