| Side view of the BDZ steam locomotive 01 23 at the Kardzhali station. This Mikado has been built in Switzerland in 1935 by the SLM Winterthur. The locomotives of the 01 class were built by various manufacturers in Germany, Poland and Switzerland. Since the engines produced in Switzerland were paid for in Bulgarian tobacco as part of a barter, they were nicknamed Tabakloks (Tobacco Locomotives). |
