The Pend Oreille Valley Railroad turn operating to the BNSF interchange at Sandpoint is approaching the Syringa Heights Road grade crossing between Dover and Sandpoint, Idaho, on the morning of February 5, 2021. POVA GP10 No. 1745 is former Illinois Central EMD GP9 No. 9045 built in 1954, that the railroad rebuilt in the Paducah, Kentucky, shop into a GP10. The locomotive is equipped with Hotstart, wears the current POVA paint scheme and is nicknamed “Old Blister”.
