With Vermont Rail System trading VTR GP38-2s 201, 202 and GP40-2 303, 308 and CLP 306 to GMTX, the GMTX blue fleet grew by a quartet on the system. Having been on lease to the State of Vermont for summer detours on the New England Central in 2020, VRS traded for several units and picked up four PTC-equipped units that will be required after Amtrak begins operating to Burlington, VT next year. One of those units, GMTX 2687, led GMRC 263 on a very snowy Groundhog Day, February 2, as it crosses the Mill River on the famous Rutland hanging bridge at Cuttingsville, VT.
