Wearing a coat of grime on its most recent paint job, Union Pacific’s Missouri Pacific Heritage engine, UP 1982, has the setting sun shining in its face – perhaps blinding the "Screaming Eagle" stretched across its nose. First repainted into this scheme (and renumbered from 8379) in 2005, this SD70ACe, along with the other five Heritage units, were repainted in the late Twenty-Teens in order to freshen the fleet up a bit. It doesn’t take long, of course, for the engines on UP’s roster to show the dirt from around the system. (Anaheim, California – January 10, 2021)
