Waiting to Depart. A woman waits along with this NYC GP10 to depart on the afternoon's scenic trip to Copperhill, TN. The Blue Ridge Scenic Railway operates between Blue Ridge and McCaysville, GA/Copperhill, TN on old Louisville & Nashville tracks now owned by the State of Georgia. We took the two hour round trip that left at 4 pm on Saturday. It's a beautiful trip that mostly runs next to the Toccoa River, which interestingly flows north. The old telegraph poles once used to communicate switching and train status are still located next to the tracks. I liked this picture at the depot in Blue Ridge with the woman resting next to the train.
