Remarks & Notes
The new 15,4 kilometer long Ceneri Base Tunnel (CBT), part of the NEAT (Neue Alpen Transversale/New mainline through the Alps), was officially inaugurated on september 4th, and now during the day all Intercity and Eurocity trains are using this new base tunnel from Camorino to Vezia and vice versa below the Ceneri pass. During the night, there are first freight trains diverted through the tunnel. Full mixed freight and passenger service will start by no later than change of timetable in december. ICN tilting train RABDe 500 # 003 just left the tunnel near Camorino and is running over the long curved bridge towards Giubiasco, running the IC 10870 (IC 870) from Lugano via Bellinzona-Arth Goldau-Rotkreuz-Zug to Zürich, while another ICN RABDe 500 is entering the tunnel shortly, running as IC 10667 (IC 667) from Basel via Olten-Lucerne-Arth Goldau-Bellinzona to Lugano. This is a compilation of two shots about 12 minutes apart.
