| The Chicago Central was bought back by the IC in 1996. So nearly 24 years have passed since red and orange geeps have rumbled over this railroad. On paper the Chicago Central is still alive and well as a subsidiary railroad of the CN, but in the field not much can be found of the days gone by. At Alden alittle history still stands as the westbound Waterloo to Ft Dodge local passes by on its afternoon local run. From Paducah Rebuilds to high horse GEVOs, alot sure has changed in those 24 years! |
