In the early morning hours of August 1st, Amtrak's Lakeshore Limited arrives at Union Station in Erie, Pennsylvania. The station was originally built in 1927 and restored to its current multi-purpose state in 2003 with a brewery, logistics firm, and other businesses in addition to an Amtrak station. While it now only sees the Lake Shore Limited twice a day, it once hosted dozens of trains from the New York Central and Pennsylvania Railroads, and various predecessors and affiliates.
The electrified Northeast Corridor and Keystone Corridor have the traffic. The Pennsylvanian and Capitol Limited routed, which are all diesel, have the scenery.
