Remarks & Notes
Amtrak's northbound Coast Starlight is seen exiting tunnel 5 ½ in California's Salinas valley. P42DC 198 is one of the few Genesis locomotives to retain its angular as built headlight configuration on it's bolt on nose cone. Most other P42's now posses the rounded more modern headlight configuration.

Running daily between Seattle and Los Angeles, this train offers running alongside the Pacific Ocean and through the Cascade Mountains. It has been one of Amtrak's long-distance success stories.
