Remarks & Notes
The late Allegheny Ridge Tower. In 1909, the Pennsylvania Railroad opened AR Tower to consolidate control of a variety of interlockings in the area. In 1995, it was closed as its function were transferred to Harrisburg, PA. This week, the tower, badly decayed after 25 years of disuse, is being removed. This wide view of Norfolk Southern's train 64R with SD70ACe 1071 (Central Of New Jersey) on June 10, 2019, leading shows the new signals at AR that replaced the PRR position lights and loop track as well.
