A quartet of Norfolk Southern GP38-2s, 5104, 5666, 5667, and 5609, lead the detouring NS 29E-21 through North Putney, VT on the New England Central RR’s Palmer Subdivision. The train is enroute from various Pan Am locations, via Miller’s Falls connection with NECR, heading to Bellows Falls, VT, where it makes the left turn onto Vermont Rail System and the trip to Whitehall, NY. At Whitehall, the train heads south on CP to Schenectady, rejoining NS there and on to Buffalo, NY.
