Steamscape: Orgasm Curve. With the snow-pack slowly deepening, the Cumbres & Toltec Rotary Outfit winds its way through the complex S-curve at Milepost 336.2 that has, in the past half century, become known as "Orgasm Curve." The name, it is said, has its origins more in the activities of teenagers who spend their summer evenings parking on the mesa that overlooks this spot, than in anything related to the railroad.
The Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad and the Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad are all that remains of the legendary Denver & Rio Grande Western narrow gauge system. Here you'll find some of my favorites from these two beautiful railways.
