Terminal Railroad Association of St. Louis 2002, photographed at the railroad’s Madison Yard in Venice, Illinois, rolled out of the General Motors Electro-Motive Division factory in November 1967 as Chesapeake & Ohio GP38 3879. When the C&O was merged with other railroads to create CSX Transportation, this GP became CSXT 2079. CSX eventually sold it to Union Pacific, which was in need so smaller engines at the time, acquiring a new paint job and number: UP 2403. Eventually, the UP sent it to Motive Power Industries for rebuilding and upgrading, and it returned as UP GP38M-3 903. After finding yet another new home at the TRRA, it became TRRA GP38-3 2002. (Venice, Illinois – October 4, 2014). Photographed on railroad property with permission and full Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
