Remarks & Notes
CN locomotive 3009 is sitting in Goodman Street yard heavily damaged, with the cab caved in and no long hood. The locomotive is here due to a collision that happened on January 3rd, 2019, when an eastbound CN train collided with a westbound CN train near the town of Portage La Prairie in Manitoba. The lead locomotive on the eastbound train was CN GE ET44AC number 3009, which went off the tracks and down the embankment. This derailment destroyed the frame and trucks of the locomotive, and heavily damaged the cab. Eventually, the locomotive was fixed up enough to make the journey from Canada to Rochester, NY where it will be taken by the Rochester & Southern down to American Motive Power in Dansville, NY for a full rebuild.
