| The annual NYS&W edition of Operation Toy Train makes its scheduled stop at Pompton Lakes train station in the center of town. Lines of local residents, U.S. Marines and OTT volunteers help in the collection of new and unwrapped gifts for the Toys for Tots onto the train's three boxcars. The town's fire department even goes as far as to raise an American flag on their ladder truck over the tracks every year as the train arrives. The power and passenger cars have to be split to avoid blocking the busy Wanaque Ave that crosses the railroad here. |
