| Can I get a light? The crew of the UP 9000 peers below as a gathering of military and civilian personnel converse as they wait for their passenger train to points east to back into the depot. The year is 1944, and the United States is still at war in two separate theaters. For a brief moment...perhaps as brief as the lighting of a cigarette...the toils of warm on the American home-front seem to have vanished. This staged photo was part of the Rail Gaints Train Museum's annual night photography session, with professional lighting and guidance provided by railroad photographer Steve Crise. |
