| Union Pacific’s superlative Big Boy locomotive #4014 effortlessly glides down the grade in Cajon Pass past the massive Mormon Rocks formation. Passing over a wash, the fireman is gazing out the window with a huge grin on his face, surely having a blast as the 1.2 million pound water boiling machine he’s firing moves them along. Somehow, I managed to capture the engine with the rods down! Seeing this machine come down Cajon Pass was unforgettable. |
