I was waiting for a steam special which was so late it would have crossed this bridge in the dark. As it was this Azuma was a bonus. Diverted from the main East Coast line this working was heading for Newcastle and a return to its original route. Seen crossing the South Tyne river in full spate due to the recent heavy rains just before the low sun was swallowed up by more clouds and rain.
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
