Was a busy day on Saturday, 7/20, by my place along the Dubuque Sub. During daylight 6 trains passed by between Waterloo and Manchester. Normally this section only has 1 scheduled train in daylight. Unit trains have been moving alot here lately in and out of Iowa, especially grain. A loaded Marcus, IA, to CSXT interchange at Chicago, IL, climb over one of the many grades along this Dubuque Sub between Waterloo and Dubuque near MP 257.
Coal and steel don't go bad. This album features long, slow, heavy freight trains; drag freights, slop freights, dead freights, etc. Trains with lots of power, and lots of different cargo slogging along behind.
