An Olympian Tells Metrolink to Hang Loose. With their train built and ready to roll, the crew of Union Pacific;s LOF67 has some time to kill as they sit just shy of CP Elicker, located north of Gemco Yard. While today's train might be ready to highball, the time it took to build today's consist has unfortunately (for the crew, not for this photographer) landed the LOF67 right in the middle of Metrolink's afternoon rush. In an effort to keep the many commuter trains moving without delay, the Metrolink Valley/Ventura Subdivision Dispatcher has informed the 2002 that they will need to wait until Metrolink 119 passes them...at which point they'll be able to follow that train north. During this waiting period in their air conditioned cab, perfect for a hot afternoon like today, the 2002's crew gives passing trains a roll-by. In the case of Metrolink 117, pictured here on the right, a friendly "hang loose" sign is shown and is returned by the Metrolink engineer's wave from the windshield of SCAX 895.
