It was a busy on the wee hours of Monday morning on the south-end of the CNO&TP 2nd District, as NS 178 (Birmingham,AL-Bellevue,OH) has just stop pass the draw bridge on the main 2 track at Tenbridge (MP-331.3) waiting for the northbound NS 282 to run around them. In the time-lapse of about 8 minutes from head to rear, NS 216 (Atlanta,GA-Chicago,IL) jets across the 1880 built vertical-lift railroad bridge as the train take diverging-clear signal to cross over from the main 1 to the main 2 track north heading out of the terminal. As soon as NS 216 get just ahead to clear the block, NS 178 will get the signal to follow the double stack north for Burnside, KY. While all of this is going on, NS 117 was hanging back from the signal til the first meet was complete. That manifest would get a signal to proceed south on the main 2 track and will run all the way into the Debutts Classification Yard.
A continuous growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom seen beauty of railroads at the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding sunset to sunrise surprises!)
