Taking a spin on the turntable at the Indiana Harbor Belt's engine facility at Gibson Yard roundhouse in Hammond, Indiana, are IHB SW1500 1524 (ex-IHB 9221) and IHB RP15BDF 1508. IHB 1508 was created by extensively rebuilding another IHB SW1500 (IHB 1508, nee-IHB 9208, in this case), with the work done by American Motive Power. IHB owns two RP15BDF locomotives, 1506 and 1508, which are dual-fuel engines, operating on either diesel fuel or liquified natural gas (LNG). More SW1500 to RP15BDF conversions are planned, along with conversions of their GP40-2 fleet. Photographed on railroad property with permission and full personal protection equipment (PPE).
