Santa Fe tried many combinations of locomotives to pull it's York Canyon, NM to Kaiser Steel in Fontana, CA coal trains, often in solid sets. One of the last combos they used was six of their ten GP40X units. Here, three on the front and three more two thirds back in the train are working hard near Hodge heading for the big climb up Cajon Pass.
