Speeding eastward toward a "high green" signal, Amtrak Pacific Surfliner 1588, a weekend-only train traveling from Los Angeles to San Diego, passes through the Buena Park, California, Metrolink station. Amtrak F59PHI 453 is leading an Amfleet coach and six Horizon Fleet cars, with NPCU 90208 on the rear. The 90208 is a Non-Powered Control Unit, created from a retired F40PH (Amtrak 208) by removing the prime mover diesel engines and using the empty space as a baggage car. These are commonly known as "Cabbages" (CAB car/BAGgage). AMTK 90208 is painted to honor America's military veterans, which is appropriate on this Memorial Day Weekend.
