| Remarks & Notes |
| Norfolk Southern mine run U44 heads east out of the yard at Norton, Virginia with two cabooses on the end of the train. The empty coal train will make a reverse movement onto the Big Toms Creek Branch at Coeburn, Virginia to be flood loaded. Although it is typical of an empty coal train out of Norton to have a caboose as a shoving platform for reverse movements on the Big Toms Creek Branch, it is unknown to the photographer as to why two cabooses were used on this day. |
