Remarks & Notes
2-2-2 or ""1A1" broad gauge (7 ft 1/4 inch or 2140 mm) steamlocomotive "North Star", built in 1838 by Robert Stephenson for the Great Western Railway of Isambard Kingdom Brunel. 12 of this type with 7 ft driving wheel diameter were built from 1838 to 1841, but all withdrawn and (partly) scrapped til 1871. This is a non-working replica built in 1923 with using some parts of the original locomotive and exhibited in the STEAM Museum of the Great Western Railway in Swindon.
