Remarks & Notes
After switching the cement plant at Townsend, Montana, on the morning of October 17, 2018, Montana Rail Link’s Helena switch arrives at the siding preparing to runaround its train before heading back to Helena. The local is powered by EMD GP9 No. 109 and SD45 No. 346. Vintage No. 109 was built in February 1955 for Northern Pacific, and has passed many times under the NP-era cantilever signal at Townsend siding’s west end.
