Remarks & Notes
The NS 4001 and NS 4000 "DC to AC" units add color to a drab scene of decommissioned power as they lead the NS 757 into the West Yard in Roanoke returning from the first revenue run of these units to Belews Creek Steam Station. The Winston-Salem District was used extensively by NS to test these Conversion units, making many trips between Roanoke and Belews Creek Steam Station on coal drags.
