It is 7:19 a.m. at McEwen and crews are busy getting two trains ready for the days work. SVR 19, a handsome 2-8-2, will handle a mainline train while Eccles Lumber Company heisler 3 heads for the woods for another load of logs. Or so it seems. The SVR was abandoned and torn up in the early 50's, but more recently hard working volunteers have relaid rail on the the original right of way, collected surviving equipment from as far away as Alaska and Guatemala, and recreated five miles of the historic line. The fall color photographers special is an annual two day event.
