Remarks & Notes

Lambert’s Point, Virginia, became to primary home of Norfolk & Western’s nine ex-Nickel Plate RSD 12’s after they were withdrawn from road service. In addition to the nine Alco’s, NKP also added eighteen SD9’s to its roster in 1957. The head-to-head comparison was still going strong twenty-five years later, as two of the EMD’s can be seen in the extreme left distance.
