| The first train of the day is nearing the top of the Brienzer Rothorn, with a splendid view to the Bernese Alps with Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau, and the blue Brienzersee in the valley. Lightoil fired cogwheel steam locomotive H 2/3 # 16 (built by SLM in 1992) is shoving lightweight cars B # 7 and B # 8 up the 25.0 %. This locomotive needs no fireman, only the engineer. On the front carriage is a train attendant who monitors the route. |
