Remarks & Notes

On a chilly winter's night, Santa Fe EMDs receive thousands of gallons of diesel fuel at the railroad's LMIT at Barstow Yard. All the running gear will be inspected here, and worn-out brake shoes will be replaced, before the locomotives are placed back in service. The terminal is alive with the sounds of idling EMDs and GEs. Beautiful!
