Remarks & Notes
Passing weathered hoodoos standing tall out of the desert floor at Mounds, Utah, is Union Pacific’s LJP45 “dirt train” approaching the junction with the Green River Subdivision main line at Mounds on May 24, 2002. Four Rio Grande SD40T-2 Tunnel Motors power the train—Nos. 5371, 5390, 5377 and 5401. This local out of Helper hauled contaminated dirt and municipal trash to a landfill located on the Sunnyside Branch at East Carbon.
