All you have to do is perk up your ears and listen. This little outside frame, narrow gauge beauty lets her shotgun stack do her talking for her and that voice is pretty darn loud. The railroad runs in a canyon between two tall ridges, so the locals not only hear that stack talk, they hear the echoes as well. Here, we see #111 pounding the rails at a steady pace on the long sweeping curve above High Fill and perhaps a quarter mile from Morningstar Siding. In less than 5 minutes, she'll be pulling into Silver Plume, where she'll get a much-needed drink of water and make a quick turn for the trip back down to Georgetown.
